Best Full-size Pickup Trucks of the Year

Full-size pickup trucks have claimed the top three spots among all passenger vehicles this year. If you’re thinking about getting one, here’s a list of our top picks.

Ram 1500

This is the best full-size truck you can buy. Its recent overhaul has made it more refined, luxurious, well-rounded, and technologically adept than any other truck available today. Power options include a hybrid V6, a hybrid-optional Hemi V8, and a diesel V6. Any trim of the Ram 1500 will easily beat any other truck you may want to consider.

Ford F-150

Another set of excellent trucks include the F-150 range. It’s packed with powerful and versatile powertrain options that include diesel, two turbo V6s, and a V8. You can get a basic XL trim or a super luxurious Limited trim, or even something in between. Then there’s the real beast – the Raptor that everyone wants. Whichever option you choose, you’ll be buying something packed with clever features and tech, amazing capabilities, and an overall great truck.

GMC Sierra 1500

It costs more than the mechanically similar Silverado, but the Sierra has some really neat extras like its strong looks, a carbon-fiber bed, and the MultiPro multifunction tailgate. And you get the reliable engine, capable chassis, and a truck that does pretty much all that you need with a touch of luxury.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500

If you want the mechanicals of the GMC Sierra but want to save money, go for the Silverado. You get to choose from five engine options, a host of trims, features, and tech, and you can spec the truck any way you want. So it could be a standard workhorse or a luxurious commuter for the entire family. It also features excellent towing capacity and agile handling.

Toyota Tundra

Sure, it’s been around since 2007, but thanks to regular updates, it’s one of the best trucks you can buy. It features a heavy-duty powertrain and offers very advanced safety systems too. If you want to drive off-road, the Tundra is very capable, especially in its TRD Pro avatar with remote-reservoir dampers and strong underbody armor. But it’s at the bottom of our list because it can’t match the above trucks on most other points.
